Both Koniva and Kon Artis from D12 are facing tax troubles. Many artists are in the exact same situation with the IRS, who claims that the D12 members owe the state some taxes. Kuniva and his wife owe $137,702 in taxes on income earned from 2004 to 2006, but he also owes the state of Michigan a sum of $16,590.
In an interview, Kon Artis talked about his own tax problems. Kon Artis owes $61,501 for unpaid taxes. “I’m not questioning the IRS, It could have been an combination of not paying enough taxes, it could have been them nog accepting enough write-offs… Take my publishing checks. I’ll make money elsewhere… I’m done with them at the end of the year.” he said to Detroit News. He said the debt could be wiped out in two months.
Kuniva has yet to comment on the issue. D12 recently kicked of the ‘Dazed and Dirty Tour’ and is to appear in Denton Texas tonight.
